Both, actually. I can't put my finger on it exactly, but the font seems look a little "fuzzier" than the current font, and appears less crisp. The font sizes though are throwing me off. It looks like you should reduce the code font size, but increase the text font size to give it an apples-to-apples comparison. If you can do that I'll give it another look. Mike

No hinting, I guess. That's not good for readability. Andrei has a high-DPI display, hinting isn't as important there.

If it looks fine on one machine now, I wonder if such a change would make it look bad on that machine but fix it on others?

The bikeshed looks fine the way it is, thanks. But it should be green.

Seriously though, updating the website is probably a good idea. My
thoughts comparing:

* New font is smaller, harder to read than existing. Have to bump it up
one in my browser.
* Bold doesn't look bold. Did the bold unbold?
* The page needs more love than just a new font to be easily usable.
Blocks of lines run together.

Roboto Mono does have a number of problems. I switched to Inconsolata, which aligns nicer. -- Andrei

Thanks! Those weird artifacts around monospace characters... my eyes going bad, image conversion error, or is that the actual look of it? -- Andrei

Well if you increase the font size I think it will looks better, see: http://i.imgur.com/RzoVSRs.jpg And like I said on the other thread (About the new Forum layout) please remember that some people uses Tablet/Phone to access, and tiny fonts is horrible on tiny screens like 7" both to read or touch (links). No font has better proportions than Verdana. Your choice is disproportionally stretched in vertical direction.

I think that it looks okay (on my 1920x1200 screen), but it does look a bit fuzzy. - Jonathan M Davis
