have - something that's been happening too often of late, for which
apologies - and is about to be superseded by a far better thought out
form, based on the View concept (as espoused by Maciej Sobczak in April
2004's CUJ, and subject to much head-banging by Bjorn Karlsson and
myself in recent times)..

I'm also working on a slice_string, that does lock-free sharing, which
might please those who like lock-free kinds of things. ;)
