digitalmars.D.ldc - release plans and sponsorship

Got a couple questions about ldc:

- Will there be a 1.0.1 release? I see it has been branched, but
not much done with it. I've updated my Android beta releases to
use it:

https://github.com/joakim-noah/android/releases/tag/ddmd

- It seems like Johan and kinke have been spending a lot of time
on ldc lately, and I've seen several mentions of working on stuff
for Weka: is that company sponsoring development work on ldc? If
so, that's good news, just wondering what's going on.

There's 1.1.0-beta2. 1.1.0 stable release should come quite soon. You can find it on their repo: https://github.com/ldc-developers/ldc/releases

I don't think so, as 1.1 should be almost ready (I hope it'll be based on current master as there have been quite a few bugfixes lately).

Not that I know of. I just wanted to fix a few things for the imminent v1.1 release. If LDC development was sponsored, I'd probably quit my job and work full time on it. ;) But David and Johan seem to have access to Weka's code at least.

I'm in-between jobs and have a lot of time to spend. And some of my work on LDC is sponsored by Weka. Liran mentioned some of it in his DConf talk. -Johan

Now I am looking for any remote job related with D. Is there request from Weka for new developers? Not full time, but any job that can be delegate to other peoples.

FYI: On the organization using D, a couple of them also hire actively D developers, so it might be worth asking these: http://dlang.org/orgs-using-d.html

Hi Joakim, I worked on a 1.0.1 release but it is now obsoleted by the 1.1.0 release. But there will be a 0.17.2 release, too. Kai
