My two projects on DSource are definitely not dead. The projects Build and Freudo are not active in the SVN sense but other activity is happening. I don't think SVN commits are required as prof of activity, but it is usually a good place to check. You may consider just updating the main wiki as to the progress of the projects every once in awhile, as stating what is happening, even if it is nothing, shows that the project has not been dropped by the maintainer. Your standing up for your projects is probably good enough to keep them off the inactive list. :)

Good for the developer. :-) However, potential users, contributors, and others may benefit more from some updating of (at least) the web page.

Is this going to be used for anything? I hope it is, I can imagine it's a pain for newcomers to figure out what's usable and what's not on dsource. I'm the current owner of indigo, and I guess you can classify it as being abandoned. As far as I know, noone's using it, because it's LGPL. And D people don't seem to like restrictive licences much. So it's not been properly tested with dmd >= 1.0, I only know that it builds, and that unittests work. But my app crashed when I upgraded the compiler, so I stopped using indigo myself.

I just officially abandoned box2d4d a day or two ago. Unless someone else picks it up, it is dead.

Somehow I was hoping that scrapple would be higher up, but then on considering, I think "Other" actually does describe it better than anything else. (parts of it are anything from dead, to stable, to actively maintained)

No, I started in the middle and skipped back to the beginning, so some stuff is missing.

I don't know if you consider the tutorials project as active since it isn't on your list, but I consider it active (or maybe you don't consider it to be a project): http://www.dsource.org/projects/tutorials/ By the way, I've created an alphabetical list of dsource project at: http://www.prowiki.org/wiki4d/wiki.cgi?DsourceOrg It's often missing the newest projects since new projects are added every week, and I don't necessarily want to update the list every week. There are some brief comments, but a lot more could be added. Also the "Activity" is merely an indication of where it was categorized on the forum list (and if a project's "Activity" changed in the forums, I probably missed it). And if other people see this page as useful and want to help me maintain it, I'll accept their help. ;)

Part in the process of moving to dsource; I need to e-mail the dsource admins again to try and get my pre-revprop-change hook enabled for my repo (I started work in an svn repo outside of dsource).

Hi. Monster is very much an active project, but for the time being the activity is going on off-site and not in the dsource svn. Nico

Is there a way with Trac to rate projects based on activity (recent commits, documentation change or forum posts), downloads, subscribers or user rating -- something? The top-ranked projects in each category could be listed first, with their associated rating - on the Projects page and the Forums. An abridged list of top projects could also be displayed the main page. It would help new users to approach this huge list, and the list of relevant projects would sort by itself. Listing projects by merit would also give maintainers of active projects an incentive to promote and maintain the visibility of their tool. G.

This topic has come up in a dsource forum: Brad, the guy who runs Dsource, has been planning on adding some project activity statistics, but he works on Dsource in his free time, and I guess he hasn't had enough time to get it worked out. In the meantime, volunteers could maintain a wiki page (at dsource or wiki4d or elsewhere) to provide some of this information, but I'm not sure how urgent the issue is.
