digitalmars.D.announce - Status of gentoo ebuild?

Currently there is 1.016 and 2.008 in the official portage tree, but 2.008
can't compile the phobos libraries.

There is also an overlay for d, but it seems to be also unmaintained. The
versions 1.014 and 1.020 are available, which are also rather old.

Please file a bug for this in Gentoo's bugzilla. If the current maintainer
doesn't have time any more for maintaining dmd I can take over ;)

I've posted an ebuild for dmd-2.012 from my personal overlay here [1].
Please let me know if there are any problems with it. It works for me but
needs a little bit of clean-up.

I've just tried it out and unfortunately it has the same problem as the
ebuild for v2.008 has. (Compilitaion error with the phobos libraries.) The
problem should be fixed in gentoo CVS for v2.008 (see bug 206346), probably
it's the same issue.
