I have completed the translation of the book. Phew... :) However, there
is still more work, like adding a UDA chapter and working on many little
TODO items.

The following was the final chapter, which actually only scratches the

* Memory Management

Now there is a 'Table of Contents' section in the PDF version: http://ddili.org/ders/d.en/pdf_indir.html It is automatically generated, useful, but not perfect. :) Next: - Fix cross references in the PDF version - Generate the index section - Publish the book in paper form Ali

it's like yesterday. i remember reading your original post for the ddili web site and you beginning a turkish book on d which was actually the first initiative on spreading d to a wider and different community and me trying to talk you out of translating the book into english. :-) i'd like to congratulate and thank you for all the hard work you've done. you've been a great teacher and master for me and all turkish d users. p.s. for readers in san francisco, ali loves coffee of four barrel. :-)

That's a big typo! :) You talked me *into* translating the book. (To be honest, Andrei had to give me a little push as well, right after a talk he gave where I work.)

Yeah, we should have started our monthly D meetings already. Andrei, Sean, and I were at what could have become a monthly gathering but it disappeared probably because summer happened. I know that there are at least a dozen D people here in Silicon Valley who could attend. I also know that Vic is trying to start something as well, or at least trying to increase the number of D programmers in the valley. ;) Ali

There's a pending pull request [1] to forward visitors to the list of D books on the wiki [2] giving equal weight to all D books, including Ali's. If this is not what you want, please say so so we know to do something different. [1] https://github.com/D-Programming-Language/dlang.org/pull/610 [2] http://wiki.dlang.org/Books Mike

I am currently adding the anchors for the index section. :) It is lacking in some areas as the whole thing started without an actual book format in mind but all of that can be fixed later. Ali
