I thought his job was to stay at his desk and pound out new bugs. :-) (Walter: have fun; you've earned it.) -- JMNorris

I'm back now, and had a wonderful time. Sweden is a great place, and the Oredev folks, in particular Michael Tiberg (the conference organizer), treated me very well. All the Swedes I encountered were very friendly and helpful whenever I had an ignorant touristy question (and these were just regular folks out on the street!). In contrast, I've been to other countries where they clearly disliked americans on sight, their only interest was in shaking you down for as much money as possible, and sniggering about you when you turn your back.

I fear the worst, but I certainly hope it was not in european countries...

I've been in many european countries, and it has never happened there.

There were no umlauts there :D If anything, it shows your lack of a unicode enabled newsreader ;) -- Lars Ivar Igesund blog at http://larsivi.net DSource, #d.tango & #D: larsivi Dancing the Tango

They videotaped it, I presume it will wind up on www.oredev.org at some point.
