http://www.prowiki.org/wiki4d/wiki.cgi I'm not able to edit pages there, I just get a timeout error. I've emailed the webmaster. The problem is I think I got an error maybe a week ago too, and I emailed the webmaster then too. But there was no reply. Maybe it's time for a new wiki for D? Any thoughts or ideas?

== Quote from torhu (no spam.invalid)'s articlehttp://www.prowiki.org/wiki4d/wiki.cgi I'm not able to edit pages there, I just get a timeout error. I've emailed the webmaster. It looks like it's fixed now. I haven't seen that error in a couple months, but I think I've seen the same error before. This is what I saw: <quote> Software error: timed out waiting for /usr/local/etc/httpd/htdocs/wiki4d/lock For help, please send mail to the webmaster (webmaster prowiki.com), giving this error message and the time and date of the error. </quote>The problem is I think I got an error maybe a week ago too, and I emailed the webmaster then too. But there was no reply.Yeah, it seems to show up about every other month. The webmaster has replied when I've notified him about the error. Apparently, the error has been caused by the server running out of space. I'm sure we'd all like a permanent solution, but my guess is a permanent solution would be to buy higher-capacity hardware (and that costs money and the wiki hosting for Wiki4D has been provided to us at no cost to the D community).Maybe it's time for a new wiki for D? Any thoughts or ideas? It could be done, but it'd require some effort to get it started, and if we move the old content into the new wiki, someone would have to put the effort into converting to a different syntax (because unfortunately each wiki system us a little different syntax). People have talked about it before. I think someone even posted promising to import all the content into a MediaWiki wiki. There are various free wiki providers out there. Several offer hosting for wikis that run on MediaWiki. I've created some wikis to experiment with at http://editthis.info/, but I've had mixed results -- sometimes the wikis run slow (also, editthis.info has announced they're going to have downtime from "May 23rd to May 31th" for a move across the country). It's also possible we could use ScribbleWiki (http://www.scribblewiki.com/), but I don't know how reliable and responsive their system is.
