D has two versions, the stable 1.0, and 2.0, the development version. When
2.0 is done, it will become stable, and 3.0 (or pray 2.9 or similar) will
be the development/unstable version.

D 1.0 is considered stable - see http://www.digitalmars.com/d/1.0/ for the
official specification. 
The 2.0 branch is still in active design/development.
