digitalmars.D - [SAOC 2026] MLIR support Weekly Update #1
- Asadbek (26/26) Sep 22 Hello everyone,
Hello everyone, I am Asadbek and I will be working on adding MLIR support in LDC compiler as part of SAOC 2026. I wanted to share the first of many of the upcoming weekly updates on my progress on adding MLIR support to LDC compiler. You can find about the milestones at [1]. During the first week, I have worked on adding new special `LDC_inline_mlir` pragma that later let us implement `inlineMLIR` akin to `inlineIR` function. That is the first starting point for adding MLIR and thanks to my mentor Nicholas Wilson for coming up with this idea as it will let us use inlined MLIR code and also force us to setup necessary MLIR infrastructure in the compiler with smaller but noticeable compiler feature. I have implemented basic semantic analysis and already started (but not yet finished) setting up MLIR build infrastructure for LDC compiler. I went through old D forum threads [2] on adding MLIR support and I found good tips that helped me to improve my local compiler development setup. I'll keep posting weekly updates so the community can follow the project's progress. Thanks for reading!
