I think you're describing urllib (http://www.opend.org/urllib.zip). I don't think he's done anything with urllib in quite a while (since before DMD 0.88). I made an attempt to update it to work with DMD 0.88. I uploaded my update to d_lab: http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/d_lab/, see Files > projects > urllib-0.0.2.zip (free membership required to download the file), but I've lost interest in making further updates. hope you are willing to send me copy by email because i do not want to be a

I would like to update the sources to D 1.0 so it should be a win for other
people.
thanks bjoern

I tried to e-mail it to you with my gmail account, but it kept on complaining about an executable being in the zip. I didn't see an executable, but maybe it didn't like the mysterious ".svn" folders. Then, I thought I'd try sending it with Yahoo! Mail. Yahoo! Mail accused me of having a virus in the zip. But I managed to re-zip it in a way that Yahoo! would send it. If you don't get my e-mail, feel free to join d_lab and download it yourself. :-P Justin (a/k/a "jcc7")

When gmail does this to me, I usually just add some random extension so that gmail won't scan it. i.e. rename file.zip --> file.zip.hide

I updated it to work with almost the latest compiler (one version behind, can't upgrade due to a bug), got rid of clientServerTest which was seriously out-of-date and redundant since we now have std.socket, fixed up the documentation to work with -D instead of Doxygen, and got rid of digc dependencies. It's attached. The clientServerTest had you speaking to a client by entering a letter, then the server would tell you a word starting with that letter. I like the word list I came up with, which is almost entirely flagged as misspellings by my spell-checker: agglutinin = an antibody that causes bacteria or blood cells to stick together in clumps; bight = a long curve in a coastline, the shore of a river, or a range of mountains; chromatic = of color or colors; depone = testify in writing under oath; exanimo = from the mind or heart, sincerely; fizgig = a light, frivolous woman; gnomic = full of maxims or instructive sayings; aphoristic; sententious; hegira = departure, flight; inhume = to bury or inter (a corpse); juggins = a simpleton; kobold = a mischievous sprite or goblin that does household work; lateritious = having to do with or resembling bricks; mucronate = having a sharp point; noetic = of or having to do with the mind or intellect; ontic = of or having to do with being or actual existence; poeticule = a petty or insignificant poet; quean = a bold, impudent girl or woman; hussy: \Such is the sprinkling, which some careless quean Flirts on you from her mop\ (Jonathon Swift); ripieno = supplementary or reinforcing; shoon = archaic, shoes; a plural of shoe; torrid = very hot; burning; scorching; ustulate = to scorch; vomitorium = a passage providing entrance and exit in a theater, stadium, or other public place; whilom = former; xyst = a portico in a gymnasium where athletes exercised in winter; yclept = called; named; styled; zonkey = a cross between a zebra and a donkey;

An old bug related to templates in Phobos whose workaround was made infeasible by changes to name mangling in the latest release. It's not related to urllib, which was written long before templates.

It means to discard, destroy, or remove.

Hey Burton,

are you doing anything with DLI anymore? I ported it to BeOS a few years ago
(as BeOS lacks a GCC 3.X compiler, being stuck in the GCC 2.95.X days) and
it would be cool to update it to a later front end.

TIA
