- Walter Bright (2/3) May 08 2007 And welcome back!
- janderson (4/8) May 08 2007 Perhaps you should post your resume here?
- Regan Heath (2/11) May 09 2007 The thought crossed my mind, but I didn't want to ab(use) the newsgroup....
Hi all, First of all appologies if this use of the newsgroup offends anyone. I just wanted to say "Hi" and "I'm back" and "Did you miss me", ok maybe not the last one. At this point some of you are saying "who is this clown?". Others may be saying "Oh no, not him again". I hope at least some of you are say "Hey cool, Regan's back". To preserve my sanity I am going to assume everyone falls into the first or last group and that the middle group does not exist. ;) Anyway, for those of you that don't have a clue who I am a quick search of the archives will give you some idea. I've just got back (in a manner of speaking) from a 6 month trip around South America which was awesome. For those of you who enjoy reading about others weird and wonderful experiences: http://www.netmail.co.nz/blogs/satrip *I'm not at all happy with the image sizes and scaling and page layout but I didn't have time while I was there to format it all manually and I dont yet have time now, I may never get round to it. When I say I just got back in actual fact I was in New Zealand (where I was born etc) before going to South America and now I'm in the UK, Hertfordshire, near London to be precise, looking for work, hint..hint.. Because I have to concentrate on looking for work D will have to remain in the back seat for a little while yet but I hope to get back into it and contribute wherever I can. I can see there are a number of recent developments in D that I need to catch up on already! Anyway, enough mad rambling. Glad to be back. Regan Heath

And Erin is a nice name, say hello to her! Come to Helsinki and I'll show you where Linux was developed and introduce you with the guy who invented the name Linux. "And that's not all:" imagine an over-the-top 2000 passenger ocean cruiser in the Caribbean. Imagine the scenery is not the boring open seas only, but an archipelago of a thousand islands that you can watch slowly move by from the lounge bar on the 12th floor with its floor to ceiling glass walls, lit by the Northern Night (at its darkest you can still read a newspaper without extra light). Gift shops, liquor stores, hair dressers, swimming pools, sauna, night clubs, pubs, solar decks, ... and instead of $2000 per night, it's a hundred bucks Helsinki to Stockholm and back. (This has been an institution here all my life (50y, dammit), and that's probably why all Caribbean super luxury cruisers are now built in Finland. Oh, and incidentally, they move though ice thicker than half of the Canadian ice breakers could handle. They're designed to not need ice breaker assistance, ever. And, being three city blocks long, at cruise speed, they make no waves! You have to see it for yourself to believe.) Matches a trip to the Grand Canyon, hands down (been there). And you meet regular people, not uppity new-rich tight-butts. And in Helsinki I'll show you the cold war era nighclubs where the actual James Bonds sat across the room from their Soviet couterparts. And the Lutheran church that's dug in a granite cliff in the middle of Helsinki, and the old town that's been in so many movies posing as Moscow, St Petersbourg or a generic old Russian city. georg

Welcome back. So I see you've been around Buenos Aires. Hope you liked it. If I knew you would come, I could have arranged some cheap good stuff for you. My girlfriend is a tour-guide (most of the time, ad-honorem :D). Here in Argentina, it isn't a good advice to come unaware of the special (over)prices for foreigners (you know what I mean). As of late I have been swamped by calls from recruiters and I have at least two interviews so far so I figure I'm doing all right. Fingers crossed :)When I say I just got back in actual fact I was in New Zealand (where I was born etc) before going to South America and now I'm in the UK,> Hertfordshire, near London to be precise, looking for work, > hint..hint..
