I feel like nowadays its just a "Pick your poison" type of thing. It seems like an arms race so i dont think neither will improve upon the other.

Would be nice if "coherent ownership semantics" could be added to the list of things D does better than C++17

Please make a PR since I don't get how D does "coherent ownership semantics" better than C++. deadalnix tried to explain to me but I don't get it. C++ feels very coherent to me.

Soon as you post a direct link -> all votes go to spam. Basically any direct link to a HN article compromises the article. -- Andrei

Too late, it's already dropped to 142. Between this ridiculous ranking system, shadow banning, the faux intellectualism, and the cult of Paul Graham, HN probably has to be one of the worst tech communities on the internet.

The post was on the front page for many hours, which is a lot more than how long the average link lasts. With 128 upvotes, it did very well, so your negativity is unwarranted.

Like probably everyone else here, I regularly read Hacker News. However, some of their policies can be quite frustrating.

I thought I was the only one who hated the 'hn comments are written in stone ready for Britannica' ethos so you made me laugh but I have to say its a good place to find articles.
