since late last year (though my 8.4" tablet that I use most of 
the time has 4 million pixels, more than most desktop/laptop 
monitors).  I'm sure the recent redesign made the site a lot more 
convenient for a lot of users if mobile use is becoming 
widespread.

The redesign got a decent amount of votes on reddit, makes sense:

It's quite funny that the announce of the new design gets 250 
upvotes while https://www.reddit.com/r/d_language/ is just the 
same since 7 years.
