I would try to collect this dates and put them in the D Wiki, 
with as many links to the different recourses as possible. If it 
is a good read it might get a direct link from the Dtour or the 
homepage.

0m14s (on an 2GHz intel server) instead of 1m50s of the last 
version with the C++ frontend (and that it still takes 14 seconds 
to build because the backend is still in C++).

I would recommend going through the changelogs and picking out 
some key developments. At a minimum, it provides information like 
D 2.0 was released June 17, 2007 (D 1.001 Jan. 23, 2007). I don't 
see much on the prior history.
