c++ - Vector Types

With the advent of the vector units in modern processors (ie MMX, SSE, SSE2,
Altivec, Emotion Engine) it's a shame that modern languages don't provide
built in support for vector types. After breifly looking over the D
language, I was wondering if it would be too late to add such a type to the
language spec?
