The output of the above code compiled with DMC v8.36 is: 1^inf = nan
Do you have plans to conform the compiler to IEC 60599?

Can you pass args to powl() that fails __fdclassify* and expect
meaningful results? Try:

  long double x = strtold("inf",0);
  if (isnormal(x))
    printf("1^inf = %Lg\n", powl(1.0l, x));
  else puts ("NaN");
